High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. Great late night dessert stop on the island. Many flavor to choose from. Always busy...which in itself is a good sign. Even though the lines were always out the door, they do a great job keeping it moving. Great ice cream.

On our recent Marco vacation, frequented Beebe's twice with the family. Great service and great selection of ice cream and treats. Will be back for sure next time. Great location at the Marco Walk next to movie theater. Lots to do in the area fun area.

Definitely not your average ice cream place. The ice cream was delicious, interesting flavors along with the typical selection. The place was mobbed, which was not surprising. Best of all, they have some really fun and wacky colored ice creams like C is for Cookie, which is blue with chocolate chip cookies just like Cookie Monster would have wanted. A long wait, but not too long, given that it was truly well worth it!

My husband and I stayed at Hilton Marco Island across the street from Beebee's Ice Cream. We visited BeeBee's twice. My husband had the coffee ice cream and I had the Toasted Coconut. Both were very yummy! We might even be back for a 3rd time before we leave to go home.

One of our 'things' on vacation is that we always seek out a local ice cream place for some local desserts on the off chance we don't gorge ourselves on dinner. Beebe's was the place in Marco. We had finished a nice dinner down he road at Cocomo's and made sure we left some room for dessert. We tried another ice cream place, but it just didn't turn out well for them and we decided to dive in at Beebe's. I know it's probably cliche at this point, but I absolutely love the salty caramel thing that ice cream places have going on this summer so I ordered a small cup of salty caramel peanut for myself. My kids ordered small chocolate fudge brownie and Milky Way (my wife made the healthy decision to skip the ice cream and have a beer when we went back to the room). Let me start with the fact that their small is at least a medium back home. More ice cream than I should have eaten, but not a drop was left. All three flavors were outstanding...the extra peanuts in mine added an amazing dimension to the ice cream...just wonderful. My kids' choices were just as good, though I was hoping for a little more chocolate in the Milky Way. We raved about the ice cream so much that we went back he next night so my wife could give it a try. No idea what they got, but the server let me have two flavors in my small cup (a rare occurrence back in Jersey) and got a chocolate almond and toasted coconut mix...made my own Almond Joy!?? A little pricey, but you get your money's worth!!

Chocolate peanut butter was disappointing. All chocolate no peanut butter. I love peanut butter, I was heart broken. Also, the waffle cone was kind of stale. My other half got cookies and cream and something with a weird name maybe hidden secret or something? He really enjoyed his, they were tasty and full of chunks.

  • Katie C.

Great for an afternoon snack! Try the "garbage can" ice cream with 7 different candy bar chunks mixed in!

  • Lindsay H.

I see people complaining about prices- stop being tight wade's! Bebe's may be a bit more pricey but the ice cream is home made and you can tell they use heavy fresh cream, it's extremely filling! Very unique flavored that are TO DIE FOR! Been going here every day since we got here in vacation- ways delicious!

  • Irene F.

Spumoni ice cream. Pistachio, cherry and chocolate with almond nuts. All in one glorious swirled concoction. I may never be able to enjoy another flavor again. Thank you Beebe for introducing it to me!

What better to do on vacation than get local ice cream? It's a must-do anywhere we go. Beebe's is the clear Yelp favorite on the island and it was right next to Da Vinci's, where we had dinner. When we entered, there was a mass chaos of people standing everywhere, in several different lines in different directions...somewhat organized chaos in Beebe's. Anyway, when we got to the front of the line, I settled on ordering a small cup of Milky Way ice cream with hot fudge. It was roughly $5--not cheap but pretty in line with other ice cream places. The ice cream itself is very good. Creamy, a decent amount of toppings, and excellent hot fudge. They have a huge variety of flavors--you could come here for a month and likely not try anything twice. They also offer yogurt as a lighter option. Good ice cream, I'd have no problem stopping by again.

Building a little too small for the crowd this place normally draws. A little bit pricey, two scoops of ice cream and a vanilla milk shake was $13.25. It was very good though, staff was friendly and energetic. Has a few cool souvenir nick knacks. Menu is kind of hard to read, couldn't see too many prices. Overall though a decent place to get something cold when it's hot outside!

3 freezer/showcases filled with choices. Waffle cones or sugar cones. Waffle dish are also available. Eat in at the counter. Homemade and made in Florida. Absolutely delicious. Parlor is located towards the end of the shopping center down from the bar & grill.

Soft serve vanilla chocolate swirl was really good!!! I know that may sound obvious, but it really was great!

My kids loved their ice cream! There's a movie theater next door and when movies end the line for ice cream is out the door.

Went here after hurting another ice cream shop on the island. We were greeted by the owners. They were friendly and offered samples of everything. Went with the cherry oblivion with their homemade whipped cream. I had all three kinds: regular, strawberry, and chocolate. All that in a waffle bowl. It was awesome! Kristy got the captain's chocolate & pumpkin. She loved it. Friendly people, great ice cream, and decent prices. Definitely will be back!

Great ice cream! Typical high prices but I'm sure rent isn't cheap on Marco island. We'll be back!!

Great shop. Large scoops. Wide variety.

  • Joanne R.

Went here twice on our previous visit, and twice on this trip. Ice cream is always delicious, unique flavors, and lots of choices. The prices stopped me from giving it a 5-star. I know other reviews said prices were reasonable, but we paid $21+ for 2 double scoops and 2 single scoops, which I thought was a bit much. I think they take credit cards now as well.

Pretty good ice cream. Claims to be homemade but just not on site. Pricey. No AC on the day we visited.

Really enjoyed this place went here twice since it was close to our condo it was very reasonably priced and has a wide variety of ice cream flavors

Black raspberry , chocolate and toasted coconut were delicious. Ice cream was creamy and reminded us of some of the best ice cream we had so far. The scoops are large. One scoop in a waffle cone and a waffle bowl (two scoop) were a whopping $11 including tax, not sure if the price is really necessary. Located in a cute shopping center with dolphin adorned fountains. Proximity to Nacho Mama's and a few other watering holes. Across the street from The Hilton and a short walk from Marriot.

Great local ice cream shop that is at a great location on Marco Island. There are lots of variety of flavors. I had the salty caramel peanut. It was good but a little different. The quantity of their selections rivals many other commercial ice cream shops like Baskin-Robbins but taste much fresher. Their ice cream cones also appear to be freshly made in-house. They tasted great. Also, the entire shop smells like fresh cones. The prices are a little higher than what you would expect, but I thought it was worth it. Also, there is a $10 minimum for debit/credit card purchases. Given the slightly higher prices, this minimum is easy to hit with (2) people. Since there was only one staff member working, there was a little wait but not too long. Overall, definitely a great place to go for a cold treat!

  • Steve M.

We come here every time we come to Marco. It's a small shop with pretty good ice cream. They have many ice cream choices to choose from. I like the chocolate chip mint on a waffle cone. I ordered a double and it towered over the cone. It felt like the server used half a gallon of ice cream. The problem for me is that I am a slow eater and the ice cream was dripping all over my hand. We will be back.

Great spot to go to after dinner on Marco Island. I really loved the coconut ice cream with toasted coconuts.

  • Scott G.

Beebe's is in a great location, the one dessert spot mixed in with several restaurants and a movie theatre. Within walking distance of the main hotels in Marco Island. We got a scoop of Salted Caramel Peanut and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Both were very good, and the scoops are generous, though pricy ($6.50 for a two scoop cup). The place was very busy, a steady stream of traffic coming through, but the workers turn things around quickly, and even if the line is outside the door, there's not a long wait. They stay open until 11PM, so you can go late if you want to avoid longer lines.

We stopped due to all the recommendations. We found that it's nothing special, just another ice cream store. We ordered a Sundaes and they were just ok.

  • DK B.

Fantastic (and crowded) little ice cream shop with many unique creations. The sunken treasure was amazing.

    (5)
  • Michelle F.

The ice cream is ok. The place is small and not organized. It was crowded and there was not any line to organize who to order first. People that arrived after us got their order before. Very impolite! Also, there were only two servers (in a bad mood) for so many people.

    (3)
  • Richard H.

A friendly ice cream place conveniently located near many hotels and a movie theatre with a small-town feel. The staff was friendly and the portions generous. We went there most nights!

  • Arianne P.

When my husband said we might still be eating our banana split sundae the next morning I laughed, because I knew we would polish that sucker off big time. Rich chocolate ice cream (two scoops please) and the best real strawberry ice cream in the middle. Good size portions and great service! I love my ice cream and this hit the spot. Good variety of flavors to pick from too. The gal working was on her own since it was almost closing time in the off-season, quiet in town for the week. She took good care of everyone and with a smile. Nice night out for sure.

  • Martin M.

The ice cream was pretty good. I had pistachio and my wife had rum raisin on a waffle bowl. The customer service could use a little help. The girls are a little dry. However, they do greet you when you come in, so that's nice. All around, it is a nice ice cream parlor because they have lots of choices from which to choose.

  • Tammi L.

The banana cream pie is wonderful, and the toasted coconut is to die for. Tastes like homemade ice cream- maybe it is? Generous scoops. Definitely worth it to stop on for a cone.

  • Alena P.

Descent ice cream place. Nothing special though. Would probably come back. It was a short walk away from our hotel (Marco Beach Ocean Resort).
